Arabic TeachersMeriem ChekimaMeriem Chekima is an Algerian/American citizen born in Albany. Upon her return to the United States Meriem furthered her higher educational studies at a local college. Meriem has taught Arabic for few years and enjoys sharing her Arabic culture with her students. Having experienced life in different countries, Meriem considers herself a multicultural person which has made her teaching experience more enjoyable for her and for her students. Sohaib ChekimaSohaib is from Algeria, but was born in Albany and received his post secondary education from U.S universities. He received his MBA in International Business and has been working in the translation field for a few years along with two years experience in teaching Arabic in different settings for different age groups. He is currently teaching Arabic at University at Albany and Union College. Through travel to several countries and living and working with Arabs from all over the world, Sohaib has had first hand experience with other Arab cultures aside from his own, and these cultural experiences have enhanced his Arabic teaching. If you are looking for help in Modern Standard Arabic or Darija, Sohaib will be happy to work with you. Nassra HamidNassra was born in Palestine and grew up in Jordan. She is a native Arabic speaker who has taught both children and adults in Amman and Kuwait. Her passion for teaching her mother tongue shows in her teaching. Nassra offers classes in Modern Standard Arabic and Levantine, her dialect. She is teaching classes to all ages at CRLC in Colonie and Malta.
